Leader In Me & The Lighthouse Team
The purpose of the Lighthouse Team is to promote The Leader in Me model inside the school so that it stays strong and vibrant year after year. They are the champions of the process. They are called the Lighthouse Team because they coordinate the school-wide work needed to achieve and maintain Lighthouse status.

Responsibilities of the Lighthouse Team
1. Orient new staff to The Leader in Me process and ensure they are trained in the 7 Habits.
2. Provide ongoing staff development around The Leader in Me.
3. Own the School-wide Implementation Plan.
The Student Lighthouse Team
The Student Lighthouse Team represents Southern Choctaw Elementary in the community. This team is composed of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. The Student Lighthouse Team will be involved in decision-making, school projects, and public appearances, such as speaking to community groups to represent our school.
How to become a Lighthouse School.
Every school has the potential to be a Lighthouse School. Lighthouse Schools have achieved extraordinary results by meeting the standards laid out in the Lighthouse Criteria. What does "Lighthouse School" mean?
The Leader in Me Lighthouse School title is awarded by FranklinCovey to honor the attainment of a well-rounded leadership model. Lighthouse Schools serve as models of leadership and mentors to other schools. It is sort of like getting your blackbelt. Currently, there are 15 Lighthouse Schools.
